Baptism

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation.

Plan Your Baptism

Your decision to be baptized is one of the most important you will make as a follower of Jesus Christ. Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and a way to identify with His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe that through baptism you express your decision to follow Jesus. If you’re ready to take the next step and schedule your baptism at Family Life Fellowship - fill out the form and let us know!

Frequently Asked Questions about Baptism

  • Jesus commanded baptism in the Great Commission: “Go into the world preaching the Gospel, making disciples, and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19-20) Jesus Himself was baptized (Mark 1, Matthew 3) and calls His followers to do the same.

  • No. Baptism is an act of obedience following salvation (the act of receiving God's forgiveness and choosing to follow Him), but it is not required to receive God’s forgiveness. However, believers should be baptized as soon as possible.

  • Yes, but not as an infant. Baptism must be a personal decision, not a symbolic ceremony for others. A child must understand the significance of baptism and be able to express and articulate their own decision to follow Christ. Parents often wish to have their child baptized as a meaningful milestone in their life, but baptism should be a personal decision made by the child based on their own faith and understanding.

Parents can dedicate their baby to the Lord in a special service, publicly expressing their commitment to lead and spiritually nurture their child.
